Updating the firmware on the Actiontec GT704WG Gateway
The firmware on your Actiontec gateway includes the programs that control how your gateway functions. Firmware updates are used to add new features to the gateway as well as fix any problems that may be discovered.
To upgrade the firmware on the Actiontec GT704WG firmware:
- Click the Download File button below.
- Click Save when the "Do you want to save this file" dialogue screen displays. [Show Me]
- Select a destination where you can easily find this file and click Save. Do not change the name of the file.
- You may want to save it to your Desktop or in your My Documents folder to make it easier to find later. [Show Me]
- When the "Download Complete" dialogue screen displays, click Close. You will use this file later in the process. [Show Me]
- Open a Web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox.
- Enter 192.168.1.1 in the Address field of the browser.
